just a little about me...

yoga and me

Laozi  says “When the student is ready the teacher will appear…”

Perhaps it was this moment when I happened to be in Bali when I met one of the most incredible teachers. Perhaps it was that I had never met a teacher that was as authentic as the teachers I encountered in Bali.

I came to yoga and YOGA came to me.

The philosophy, the teachings and physical and emotional benefits of yoga have completely captivated me and continue to do so as I live.  It has been humbling.

I have a BA in Sociology from Smith College (USA) and Msc in Development Studies from School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London.  My earlier career was in the financial industry in Tokyo and London.  Later, I co-founded an ethical business working with Nepalis and Cambodians on fairtrade basis.  I am passionate about life and the world we live in.  Yoga teaches me to carefully tune inwards and my view of the world and life experiences has changed since.

I had never imagined myself to become a yoga teacher, NEVER, even as I attended teacher training to deepen my understanding. I had never thought I will be a meditation practitioner. Now I am.

The wonderful tools and ways of this life can’t be left unshared.

Now in my 40s, I am excited to be a dedicated student in this lifelong practice of yoga. As I learn, I am in awe of how much more there is to consider in this practice.  I am passionate about sharing this process and deepening my practice with you.
